Age of Shade by Cleo White

5.0

This review is waaaaay overdue, especially considering I've re-read this book like 3 times since March. I just love it so much and it's such a quick read! Cleo White has very quickly become one of my favorite authors, and I'm so excited to see her flourish and write more fantastic romance books.

Age of Shade has an interesting premise- Asher is a struggling dentist who saves Adina from the streets a few years ago, by offering her a job as an overnight cleaner at his dental practice where she can also sleep overnight. For three whole years, they never cross paths while Adina is in college and working at the dental practice overnight. I know it seems a bit unrealistic that they would never run into each other once, but you just kind of have to let that slide lol. Asher and Adina meet again years later, but he doesn't recognize her at all. Meanwhile, she has been crushing on him for years after he saved her. Romance ensues, but Adina struggles to keep her secret from him as she discovers that Asher is even more amazing than she thought.

This book is not for everyone, but it has everything I like in it. I love Asher and Adina together so much, even if they seem like a mismatched pair due to their age gap. The sparks are flying, the chemistry is...chemistry-ing all throughout the story. The way Asher talks about Adina, gushes over her, expresses how grateful he is for her, and takes care of her had me swooning all the way to the moon. ❤️

Adina is one of my favorite romance fmcs I've read about in a while. She's been through so much and is such an incredibly compassionate and hardworking person. She really needs a break and I'm so happy that Asher is there to help her while still letting her grow as her own person.

Age of Shade is such a sweet love story with incredibly well written spice, I love everything about this book ❤️definitely read the warnings and tropes to make sure you're into it!
