Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah
5.0
Not a single complaint!
This book was interesting from start to finish. Just when you think you are going to figure out what’s around the corner, it twists in a different way.
Personally, I bought the alien line. Totally thought the kid could’ve been an alien until around chapter 35.... which makes me sound dumb maybe, but I thought it made sense that she could’ve found a girl’s dead body in the forest, especially when the bruises were mentioned. Spoiler alert, she wasn’t killed - it was a very interesting coping mechanism. A way for the character to disassociate herself from the trauma. The romance in this novel had me bursting with giddiness the entire time, and if I had any comment it was that there seemed to be a bit of a cliffhanger in that department. The book ended on a note of Jo not being sure their relationship would work out, though Ursa was certain of it, and she is an alien who makes good things happen so maybe I should just trust her. Anyways, this book has so much love and quirkiness in it that I think anyone would get a good read out of it.
There are expletives and references to sexual harassment, assault, and actions in this novel.
