I give this book 3.75 stars. When I first started reading it, I found it quite challenging to keep up with the timelines which had a knock on effect to me remembering all the characters that were being introduced. I decided to let go of trying to focus too much on remembering which time line we were in and just engaging with the storyline, that made it far more pleasurable.
Eventually as I stayed with the book, I managed to build a rapport with it, felt myself being emotionally drawn in and developing empathy for the main characters. I can imagine this being an extremely difficult reality to live in and they do go through a lot of emotionally traumatic experiences.
