UnWreck Me by Hayley Faiman

Avah doesn’t like being asked to perform favors. Hawk doesn’t like what he sees but it is of his own making. We have two separate stories to start this book. Wanting to find out how the author is going to combine them into one is what kept me reading.

But as I continue reading I had a hard time ever seeing any connection between our main characters. It felt more like two people going through the motions – keeping their lives separate. Even having the suspense did nothing to show me how romance was in the future for these two.

Then it felt like a switch got flipped and these two became different people. I really tried to find that connection that the author was developing but I still couldn’t feel it. Hawk seems more like a hound dog with double standards. Avah seemed to have a sad soul. I was hoping that she would connect to a secondary character that I enjoyed getting to know.

I’ve read almost the whole series and have loved the ones I’ve read, but this one just didn’t do it for me. It did have bright spots because as I said before there was a secondary character that I liked. The suspense was also a good way to hold my attention and I like that I got to see a happy ending. I didn’t mind that there was an age gap between Avah and Hawk. I also didn’t mind the life that both these people had to lead the lives they did since that shows the reader who they are. Not seeing how they came together as a couple was my biggest issue. But that won’t stop me from reading more of this series.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
