The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

3.0

I have such mixed feelings for this book. The plot twist still left me surprised, and the way the timelines collided was really good. The plot followed along like a mystery, as we follow Theo "unlocking" the past of Alicia and I LOVED the Sherlock Holmes-esque character.

But I am taking away a star because the ending left me so unsatisfied. Kathy had no repercussions for her actions but just became depressed in the end and I wished Theo wouldn't've drugged Alicia. It would've been more fun if Alicia and Theo were in on it because, frankly, Garett? Gregory?? Alicia's husband didn't deserve all that love from Alicia.

Also, we spend a HUGE chunk of the book interviewing Alicia's family only for them to not have any connection whatsoever to the plot twist. So one more star away for this.

It was fun (at the end only) and I would recommend reading it after knowing a bit of spoiler because you need some sort of motivation to sit through the entire book until it reaches the climax.
