Auntie Poldi and the Vineyards of Etna by Mario Giordano
4.0
Instead of a middle aged -> elderly lady British or American murder sleuth, this book mixes up the genre with Aunt Poldi who is a German living in Sicily.
Like many others in this genre, Aunt Poldi is widowed, sassy, and has many lovers. I'm not exactly sure why she relays all her sexual escapades to her nephew (the narrator), but whatever. I'm not sure what the correct grammatical term for the style of writing is, but this book uses a lot of extra big words and sometimes it's hard to even know what they are talking about with all the excess adjectives. But overall Aunt Poldi is a decent read.
