I'm not certain I can pinpoint exactly why, but I liked this book more than the first. It might be because the author already has one book under her and her writing's a bit more confident because of it? All I know is that this werewolf romance reads really well and really quickly. There's consent and tentacles and questions of 'would you want to become a werewolf?' and it's just a great little read if you're interested in some romance with some sex scenes.
There were a couple moments where timelines felt off between the first and second books, but it's easily not thought about. I do wonder how much was planned beforehand in the timeline and the worldbuilding, but it's also not quite the book where one ought to think about it I suppose.
