Gandhi, Fighter Without a Sword by Jeanette Eaton

This is an excellent biography of Gandhi that should be read by both young adults (its intended audience) and any adult reader with an interest in South Asia history. The author tells the compelling story of how Gandhi came to lead the efforts of the Indian people to gain freedom from the British empire. She describes with well written details his efforts to create a non-violent confrontation and how it succeeded in bringing independence to India. I'd recommend this book to all readers 10 and older.
