The Silence That Binds Us by Joanna Ho

Wow, this really spoke to my heart and I hope this powerful novel will make its way into the hands of Asian American youth.  It would've validated my experiences as a teen growing up in predominately white spaces.  Even the discussion of "real" Asians and how Asian one has to be to be accepted and included by the Asian American community was so spot on.  There's a lot of heavy topics in this story - definitely check out trigger warnings if you are a sensitive reader. But I loved May and Danny's relationship and love the discussion of mental health in the Asian community as it's something that still isn't widely discussed. I finished this book with tears in my eyes but with my heart full.  Highly recommend!
