I read this book aloud with my partner in the days after Thanksgiving. Believe it or not, I didn't know it was a Christmas book! Accidentally started a lovely tradition. This simple book captures so much of the complex feelings of the holidays and the Irish spirit plus a venture into nefarious doings of the Catholic Church. I related to Bill Furlong and Eileen in so many ways. A sweet but sad little book!
