Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
3.5
nothing that changed my life, but actually a really intriguing and mostly captivating novel. also more darker than the other lisa jewell works i’ve tried, and by far the best ive read from her. i just didnt vibe with the tonal shifts - sometimes it worked, and at other times it really didn’t. i did enjoy the specific presentations of how family, especially in the aftermath of losing someone, can work and change and shift. some parts however were done a bit too … unnaturally. nonetheless, the messiness of family dynamics and our relationship to one another was explored well.
the ending made me cry too:(
