struggling with the four star bc it didn’t move me in any profound way, nor did it provide any specific insight into dynamics im familiar with. but wonderful read, might re evaluaTe in like a month

nonetheless, sucker punch of a book, and great representation of many straight men and their incompetence in relationships. again. this fucking book should be studied. good at showing the minute ways misogyny drives the death of many het relationships, even in this day and age. and actually the freedom many seek outside of their relationship is them being able to live in their own filth and not get called out on it. and being selfish with their space and viewing their partner as a pretty prop that satisfies their every need. and any concern brought up questioning on misogyny is just met with “ah that’s just us boys”.

it’s scary bc these men exist everywhere. you KNOW this man went on reddit and wrote a post asking “AITA for leaving my socks on the floor? my fiancée is threatening to leave me over it”.
