This seems like a novel that's more like an excuse for certain esoteric ideas about one-ness from the early 20th century. Various people come to stay at Sweet Rocket, which seems to be former plantation whose beauty inspires people to get in touch with nature and glimpse how all people are one. Though I couldn't help but notice that this one-ness didn't get rid of racial differences.
