The Ippos King by Grace Draven
5.0
4.5 stars
Draven may have had a difficult time finishing this particular entry in the Wraith Kings series, but you can't tell it by the story. While there are a few places early on in which the pacing seems a bit sluggish, once it gets itself established it takes off and doesn't stop.
And honestly, I had wondered how Draven was going to make these two remain in character and still make their love affair believable but she managed it magnificently.
I'm looking forward to the next in the series, which may prove to be the most ambitious yet for Draven given that the culture of the people I believe will be covered is so radically different from the pseudo-European middle ages with magic style that most of the rest of the world has been written in. I am seeing something akin to Hun culture for the next pairing, but it's a guess. I look forward to seeing what Draven comes up with.
