Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent
5.0
Here is the first of a series of reviews titled “watch Deni fall in love with these books flaws and all”
two facts you need to know in advance:
1. Carissa Broadbent has undoubtedly become one of my favorite authors ever.
2. Maxantarius Farlione is simply put my favorite male fantasy character of all times, this goes beyond being a “book boyfriend” or a perfect character (he is far from that) but it is because he’s an innately good person who loves deeply, unconditionally and selflessly opposite than selfishly.
This book omg THIS BOOK! it captured me from the start cause it is fast paced and action packed! there’s always something happening some plan unraveling somewhere to head towards something to do next and even with that being a lover of love stories as i am, the slow burn was slowwww burning and sometimes i got a bit impatient but boy was it worth it!!! the characters build their relationship slowly and steadily with trust and shared dreams and hopes and at the end when they act in love you absolutely and completely believe it, you believe they would die for each other cause you saw them grow into that sacrificial truth instead of it being rushed and obsessive and nonsensical like it happens in sooo many romantasy stories.
Carissa is a character writer first, her way with words soars and hits you specially when you are reading their personalities, by the end of the book you understand their actions always, you get the main protagonists but also the villains and secondary characters without ever getting their pov, you truly come to know them so well together with all their hopes and hurts, that is art!
I am a character reader first, i will excuse a poor plot (which this book to my opinion doesn’t has) or pace issues (which it has a bit) if the beating hearts of a story capture me and Tisaanah and Max captured me from the start and im sure will not let me go in a long long time.
