Under the Surface is a gripping and fast-paced YA thriller that will take you on a terrifying journey through the catacombs of Paris. From the very first page, the tension is palpable. The author’s vivid descriptions of the underground world create a feeling of claustrophobia, making you feel like you are right there with the characters, navigating the maze of tunnels.  I’ve never really felt claustrophobic until reading this book, but I loved it. 😆 While the love interest plot may not have been a major highlight for me, Sean’s POV still played a significant role in the story, especially from above ground. Honestly, I just loved this book. I didn’t want to put it down. It’s so well written and well researched. And there’s never a dull moment. This one is a must-read for fans of YA thrillers. Its pace, terrifying atmosphere, and characters will keep you on the edge of your seat. And on that note… I’m going to plan my trip to Paris for 2026. 🤭
