A Darkness At Sethanon by Raymond E. Feist

4.0

The final installment in the Riftwar Saga goes out with a bang, or more accurately a succession of bangs, in one of the most epic battles in fantasy literature. I must confess I had found The Magician a little turgid but the second and third books in the series are far superior and are a satisfying end to the story arc began in the Magician. Having been raised on a diet of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, it's always difficult to find a fantasy series that lives up to those formative experiences but this almost hit the spot.
