Solid ending to the Pennyroyal Green series. From the emotional heartbreak of Olivia and Lyon’s breakup to their steamy reunion and an epilogue set 150 years in the future. (Though the epilogue is controversial in other reviews.) Maybe it felt like a sweeping epic because Lyon and Olivia are in 10 books?

Definitely read in order. Or at least reading the book that precedes this one before reading this.

Pros:
+ Banter between Lyon and Olivia
+ Pining
+ Long-lost love
+ A nod to all of the Pennyroyal Green side characters

Cons:
- The surprise reveal in the last book (a key figure in the triangle trade that Lyon is trying to exact vigilante justice on) has another twist at the end of this book, with no explanation.
- the ending felt rushed compared to the bulk of the story which was well-paced and lovely.
- Abolitionist pirate owns a sugar plantation in Louisiana?!? Mentioned as one of “many houses” he owns. How is this not addressed?!?
