here i was just minding my own business thinking i was in the right mood to enjoy a completely goofy chick lit/romance book with maybe a lil angst ~la la la~
then i made the unfortunate mistake in picking this up and instead of a dose of dopamine, right off the bat i'm getting get super didactic political/social commentary shoved down my throat
gimme a fcking break
i didn’t dnf this but that says more about me as a dysfunctional person than anything related to the quality of this book. basically everything about it - the writing, character/relationship building, dialogue, etc, you name it - was like a heat seeking missile fired directly towards the misery centers of my brain. just not at all my cup of tea and unfortunately i came away from this more convinced than ever that the contemporary romance genre today is full of hack authors
