How is that brilliant, amazing and yet heartbreaking books like Orbiting Jupiter was never on my radar before Rishi @thebookwormdiaries recommended it to me for the #12Readsfrom12FriendsChallenge?
Because it is an oversight that I rectified immediately – and I honestly don’t know whether to thank you or hug you or sob right into your arms for breaking my heart and soul; yet give me enough faith to smile at the ends of the book?
Am I even making sense?
No? Well then you understand that this 189 page book made me into a blubbering mess and I don’t know if I will ever be able to forget its impact on me. Such is my faith on Rishi’s recommendations that I went into the book without even researching on it – and when I say THAT absolutely was the reason why I had no way to even fathom or prepare myself for the impact – then yes; that’s absolutely true!
A foster brother; a foster son and a boy whose world revolves Maddie and Jupiter – a boy who never smiles, who doesn’t talk, who flinches when anyone comes near; but has a whole heart of love to give – and he changes the life of the family he is placed with. A 13-14 year old boy who has never had a home; wants to make one for the girl who made him laugh; for the girl who saw him and for the baby they made together.
A boy who loves; a boy who has Jack’s back – a boy who made Jack, a single child understand that there are bonds beyond blood and people are not who they are labelled to be – Orbiting Jupiter is a book that will break you into a million pieces before you are glued back together and you will thank the book (and the author for it).
Orbiting Jupiter is a book that makes its impact; not by making a splash but by a ripple that you would never even see coming!
