I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid

4.0

I think I like this psychological suspense/thriller genre, but thinking if I delve in I might get bored if it gets too samey. The book delivers a cool, creepy vibe early on and interesting characters. You begin to notice odd things early on and then you realize what's probably going to happen at which point it's just reading to find out how right you were while being annoyed with a plot that has actually become less engaging in it's third act. It might have been better if I'd finished the ending faster without being interrupted. All in all I was reminded of Laura Kasichke's book Mind of Winter which I liked better and recommend to anyone who liked this.
