The prologue wrecked me.
River and Kennedy's 10 years of banter and (eventually) lots of tension healed me. They just fit.
The plot twist of their unknown connection blew my mind but made their story even better.
I absolutely could not put this book down. Kennedy and River were so lovable and relatable individually, but put them together and you have one heck of a good time. The plot was so well written and the characters were the best! They are all my new fictional BFF's. I love the found family trope and this group gave that to me in spades.
I love how River liked to rile his Skipper up, but she gave back just as good as she got. Kennedy was one strong FMC and I loved her for it. They got under each other's skin in the best way and it just made their chemistry that much more combustible.
Embers in the Outfield has become one of my favorite reads this year and I will absolutely recommend it to others.
I cannot wait for Clay's book! I have a feeling we're in for even more greatness from Stefanie Castro and this series!
