my 2nd book by rivers solomon and i have to say i enjoyed it a little less than “the deep” but even so, i’m glad i read this.

the characters weren’t all that well developed but i did find them interesting for different reasons lol.
i loved the relationship between sully and ziza. it was at times odd and creepy ngl. 😭

i enjoyed the writing style as well. something about it just lures me in, i can’t even explain. it doesn’t drag nor is it boring but something about it almost feels melancholy. i liked the same thing in “the deep” book.

i love a good for her story but in this case it was quite unhinged horror and not really in a way that i particularly like, that’s just my thing. it’s a short novella and it flew through but the plot itself was why i couldn’t give it full 5 stars. it just didn’t deliver to the fullest, you know what i mean? i do still recommend reading this, but don’t expect to be the edge of your seat scared!
