What a amazing and captivating book, I was unable to put it down, the book tells the story of a family in Palestine before the war begins, and with the beginning of the war so do the atrocities. This book is heartbreaking and heartwarming all wrapped together in the story of a families love. Be warned there are triggers in here that are very difficult issues (rape, child molestation), but is an engaging read regardless. It is definetly the kind of book that I could easily read again and again and would highly recommend it to others. The book is interesting as you get to see the world from more than one characters point of view and get to experience the world that they live, the culture, the language. A fantastic read.
