While I think the concept of this world was interesting, I am not loving the relationship aspect at all. Lou, the werewolf, was basically just a controlling asshole who wanted to change everything about Neil. Neil was a human who realizes monsters exist and his reaction is either to laugh or be snarky about it. While it was ok at first, it quickly became apparent that Neil’s whole personality was snarkiness and a weird obsession with crocs. As for the relationship between these two, I didn’t feel much chemistry between them and it felt like Lou was abusing the situation to just try and get laid. But mainly I hated that as soon as Lou gave Neil a new wardrobe he gave into his advances and just did a whole 180 and gave into sex with him. Which is basically when I stopped reading. So this book just isn’t working for me and I don’t want to spend my time reading 400+ pages of this to see if it gets better.
