The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

3.0

It was cute, overall, and I can see where it might have been considered a bit racy and risque a decade ago. It's got enough graphic adult content to be considered an adult book, for sure. I did chuckle out loud several times moving through the story.

I have a personal dislike for adult males with unresolved daddy issues resulting in poor behavior and poorer choices. It's not a trope I find entertaining, and the drama that is a result of said trope just seems toxic to me, not particularly endearing. Yes, it's nice to see the growth arcs as the characters come through it successfully, and that's certainly present here in abundance. But that particular trope I find tiresome at this point in my life.

The book was otherwise well executed, and Rosalyn Lander is a quintessential narrator for UK based historical romance so I couldn't possibly complain about that.
