Within the first thirty pages….IMMEDIATELY YES! OMG! This had age gap romance, forbidden romance because, HELLO BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND/ TEAMMATE, basically off limits best friend’s little sister, and much more! KANDI STEINER YOU BEAUTIFUL GENIUS! This was the next book in the, “Kings of the Ice”, series where this time it was all about, Jaxson and Grace! I got to see a bit of Grace and Jaxson in the first book, but in their own book now, oh boy it was filled with desire, longing, and that ever present need from Jaxson in WANTING GRACE! YESSSSS!

You know, when Jaxson offered to take Grace out for a drive, he wasn’t necessarily planning for it to be a road trip, but when he saw how she got so excited for adventure, he couldn’t deny her. Nothing like a good road trip to get out, explore, have adventure, and spend time with the hot, grumpy hockey player who’s also your brother’s teammate and best friend! Grace was looking for a change of scenery and having Jaxson by her side made for a thrilling experience as well as giving her plenty of opportunities to flirt and spend time with him. I right away liked the dynamic between Grace and Jaxson from how lighthearted, bubbly, and fun Grace was to Jaxson letting loose a bit being around her. Jaxson was always use to being serious especially in his career of being an NHL hockey player so, to spend time with Grace he got to have that time to be free, be silly, and honestly let go a little of the seriousness he usually carried around. Grace was the sunshine, and she truly brightened Jaxson’s days, and Jaxson became the person who supported, listened, and made Grace a priority like she always longed for.

Grace and Jaxson had this electric connection with each other, and despite all the fun and passion between them, it was forbidden since Grace was Jaxson’s teammate’s/ best friend’s little sister. I really liked the forbidden trope especially in the context of a sports romance such as this one! Grace had always had a crush on Jaxson, but with Jaxson being Vince’s (Grace’s brother) teammate it made things a bit more difficult. Only a crazy man would go after Grace, but I guess Jaxson wasn’t entirely thinking about the consequences when he was so lost in the moments he spent with Grace. The fact was, both Grace and Jaxson were very much aware that if Vince found out about them, it would not only end with Vince getting beyond angry, but also hurt the friendship and dynamic between Jaxson and Vince, and potentially the team itself. (Sigh) the young lovers had to deal with some minor roadblocks in order to be together, but hey, when it’s a romance not everything is as simple as it seems.

My oh my, Kandi really knew what she was doing when she wrote Jaxson and Grace’s story! I mean, the hockey stuff was great and all, but once it jumped into Grace and Jaxson going on a road trip together, it became a fun filled adventure that let me see the two of them grow closer and open up. I think what I loved most about this story was seeing each Jaxson and Grace open up about their lives, and the vulnerabilities they normally kept closed. Grace was such a bubbly, happy, positive person, but even she dealt with feeling like no one truly saw her or listened to what she was dealing with. Jaxson was also someone I saw in a different light from seeing him transform into a lighthearted version of himself compared to always focusing on hockey, Jaxson really grew as a character and I loved that for him. The romance, the chemistry, and spicy scenes all illustrated the passion and understanding that Grace and Jaxson had together as a couple which I throughly enjoyed. Still got to see the other characters, and a bit more of Daddy P, which set up his book perfectly as the next one!!!!!! Kandi delivered yet another amazingly written hockey romance, and as you can tell, I’m throughly having so much fun reading them! Jaxson and Grace were so perfect together, and I’m really happy with the way their story ended! All good vibes from here on out, but more importantly, I’m more than looking forward to reading all about Daddy P and his romance with his daughter’s teacher!!!! OMG! ONCE AGAIN HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
