The Snowstorm by Triona Walsh
3.0
The plot set up for this instantly had me intrigued as I love the snow storm, locked in mystery whodunnit theme. Except stranded on an island with no chance of back up… Luckily Kara is a cop and she’s on the case to discover what happened to her friend.
It was a little slow to start and pick up, and with me being largely ignorant and unfamiliar of Irish names, it did add an extra layer of difficulty when it came to keeping hold of all the threads and who was who. But the further on I got the easier it was to assign the people to who they were.
That being said it didn’t take too long to get going and pique my interest. I’d occasionally space out and need to get back into the story but the narration was fab and really helped me to be immersed. Occasionally there was slow bits with injections of exciting and intriguing clues that I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom of. It was a convoluted plot with plenty of twists, turns and red herrings so I certainly didn’t guess the killer!
I couldn’t have stopped as I needed closure as to what happened and it wasn’t a bad murder mystery all in all.
Thank you to the author and publisher for this book on NetGalley in return for my honest thoughts and review.
