I thought this was a really interesting and unique way to tell a story. This is quite a slow burn but I enjoyed getting to know our characters.
Honestly I never felt frustrated or impatient with “Rachel” I feel like I really understood her and her hesitations. We join the story after she’s been captive for so long I think her behaviors make sense.
However I didn’t love being in Emily’s head. Her literal obsession with our villain felt unrealistic and I felt secondhand embarrassment at times.

Graphic: Confinement, Emotional abuse, Grief, and Death of parent
Moderate: Violence, Kidnapping, and Murder
Minor: Rape, Sexual content, and Sexual violence
