Second Chance Boyfriend by Monica Murphy
3.0
Definitely the writing improved from the first book, the plot was also more organized and it was more entertaining to read.
It’s still not a far cry from the typical NA novels, which I’ve learned to be a difficult genre to write, so I have always made sure to lower my expectations.
Second Chance Boyfriend is good, at first I was stressed out as to how everything patched up easily but I enjoyed where the author took us. It wasn’t the best plot, by all means, but it’s good. The author allowed me to get a deeper perspective on both MCs, they were no longer names on a page with tragic past and f-ed up present — they were Fable and Drew, for real.
The only criticism I would have is that the ending was too dramatic, like I was watching a drama series unfold. Mostly it’s typical in Filipino TV drama so I almost burst out laughing during Adele’s scene, thinking how familiar it all is.
