Bittersweet by Lauren K. McKellar, Carmen Jenner
3.0
Bittersweet was an enjoyable read with plenty of laughs and descriptions of delectable desserts.
It’s a light, easy to read book but it felt like the book was chopped in thirds which I did find a touch distracting.
The first third there were plenty of laughs.
The next third, there was a lull in the action, the couple spent time apart and the story fell flat.
The last third is when the action picks up again but the tone is much more serious than the comedy we started out with.
As for the secondary characters, well Coco was beyond cute. And I loved Nico! I think I was supposed to look down on his desire to do nothing but frankly, it was candid and refreshing. Heck, I‘m jealous! I would not say no to his lifestyle. I hope Nico gets his own book.
