The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin
2.0
I’ve never read a book where I have been more anxious to end the book than invested in the actual plot. This book’s main character was unlikeable and the plot seemed to constantly repeat itself. Not only was the plot lacking in depth but almost every character apart from the main character lacked sufficient characterization . The love story was touching, though the chemistry throughout most of the novel was weak and unbelievable. Being Griffin’s first published novel, I did enjoy her use of descriptive words and the fast pace of the book. I could see myself being interested in her future work and hope that her skills as a writer continue to grow, as there were very redeeming parts of the novel. I look forward to reading her upcoming novel, but hope that I feel differently when finished reading it.
