In Pieces by Cleo White

5.0

Another highly overdue review for a book that has become one of my favorites! It's sweet, it's taboo, it's steamy and I love it.

In Pieces follows the story of Delta, a professional snowboarder who falls in love with her orthopedic surgeon. He falls in love with her back. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's wrong. But I can't resist a taboo doctor/patient romance, especially when the mmc is as sweet as Brooks.

As an all-star snowboarder struggling with career-altering injuries and extreme pressure from her father to succeed, Delta has a lot going on. River (Delta's father) deserves jail for more reasons than one, but definitely for naming all of his kids after different types of bodies of water (Delta, Lake, and Bay).

Brooks is Delta's doctor who helps her with her physical injuries, but also offers support and friendship. Their relationship quickly grows into something unprofessional, and that's exactly why I picked up this book lol. I fell in love with Brooks right along with Delta. He is so sweet, thoughtful, romantic, and sexy. I also love how Cleo White includes neurodivergent representation in this story, as Brooks is on the autism spectrum.

Cleo White packs a lot of depth into these short love stories. I usually don't ask for books to be longer, but I wish I could get more of Delta and Brooks. But it still felt perfect! There are some heavy themes in this story, but overall it made me extremely happy. In Pieces is one of my favorite comfort reads
