When UNEARTHLY came out, and even before, everyone in the blogosphere knew about it. The reviews ended up being as wonderful as the cover and I was anxious to pick it up and see what everyone was raving about.

It seems that more and more books about angels are starting to come out, and thankfully many of them have used different approaches. Cynthia Hand's view of angels was fresh and unique. I loved how she created this teenage girl who was part angel. It's great because most books have a teenage girl who falls in love with in angel.

The whole plot of UNEARTHLY was unique and kept me guessing at times. Sometimes though I found myself bored. I wish there had been more mystery or just more going on in in general.

As for Clara, she didn't really interest me, but she wasn't a bad protagonist either. The other characters were merely okay to me, and I didn't feel truly connected with any of them. I hope that in future books they grow as characters and on me.

Overall this book was a great and fresh idea, but it fell a bit flat for me. This review isn't long because I honestly don't know what else to write about it: the plot idea was great, but the way it was played out wasn't that great. Cynthia Hand and this series have a lot of potential though, so I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
