Butter: A Novel of Food and Murder by Asako Yuzuki
inspiring
reflective
slow-paced
2.5
This was a weird one. Not for the plot or the characters but more so for the pace and grip of the book.
At 100 pages I was ready to DNF but decided to give the audiobook a chance. Even the body shaming tone of the book shocked me. Only with the audiobook addition was I able to finish. The books plot strays from expectations but not in a necessary captivating way. What kept me going really were the minor plot twists and gorgeous descriptions of food.
If nothing else this book made me hungry. Just sadly was a bit of a disappointment plot wise.
