Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer
5.0
i loved this book. i listened to the audiobook, and it took me 4 months because i really wanted to take my time. i appreciated so much the way kimmerer spoke about everything being on earth as just as important as humans. that in her native language, Potawatomi, many words that are nouns in english are verbs- instead of "river," it's "to be a river," giving agency to everything and de-centering humanity. the author speaks about being in right relationship with everything on earth, gratitude, and the honorable harvest. i would recommend this to anyone invested in humanity's survival.
