"You don't have to have a reason to be tired. You don't have to earn rest or comfort. You're allowed to just be... But I don't feel like it's true, for me. I feel like it's true for everyone else but not me. I feel like I have to do more than that. Like I have a responsibility to do more than that."
- Dex
An absolutely perfect sequel that picks up right where Psalm left off. Just as warm and cozy and thoughtful. And also a little sad, especially concerning Dex's struggles with purpose and feeling unworthy of comfort at times, because they feel they provided nothing to earn it. Plenty of fun moments mixed in with more philosophical discussions.
At this time, I understand this is a duology with no 3rd book planned, and although I would absolutely love to read more about Dex and Mosscap's journey and friendship, I am also content with leaving the duo as is. This duology has impacted me greatly and I will be thinking about it for a very long time.
