Okay, to be honest, while I had heard of Alisha Rai, I hadn’t actually picked up her books – a slight I plan on rectifying immediately!

I picked up Girl Gone Viral because it was going to be released almost immediately from when I had received the eARC –
but once I actually started the book; I honestly couldn’t stop reading it – literally read this one non – stop for about 3 hours; and even then I didn’t want this book to end!

Katrina King Singh is battling a lot of issue; though thankfully money isn’t one of them – her anxiety in crowds and a little PTSD from a traumatic incident in the past + a lot of childhood issues are major reasons why she doesn’t like being in the public, even if she was a successful model in her teen years. After the death of her husband; its only recently that she has decided to dip her feet into the dating pool.

This decision has nothing to do with the fact that she seems to be developing feelings for the one man, who seems to be very well out of her reach!

Jasvinder Singh, Jas as he likes to be called; is an ex-military, now bodyguard and security officer to Kat since the time she married his boss and close family friend and has been in love with her for as long as he can remember – not that he believes anything will ever come out of his feelings. So he stays with her; and makes her life as comfortable and safe as he can.

Before I even move to plot and the writing; I just have to gush over Kat and Jas – they were so freaking adorable together; I had a huge grin on my face every single time I read their conversations or even read their monologue – their (un)requited love; their connection; and but it was their slow burn romance that had me swooning over them.

Next the secondary characters – Kat’s best friend and roommates; Rhi and Jia as well as Jas’s well meaning but exasperating Sikh Indian family had me in splits and they gave the whole plot a whole rounded effect, pretty much made sure there was never really a dull moment while reading the book!

This was a book I didn’t know I needed – two individuals; and their sweet, no drama romance had me in such great spirits even after I was done with the book- yes there were a few things I really wish had been resolved a little more clearly but I ended the book, hoping for the next book immediately!
