Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

4.0

I read this one a few months back so I can't recall a ton of details but I do remember thinking this was my favorite of the Wallflower series once I was finished. Evie and Sebastian were very much an opposites attract sort. Evie and Sebastian don't have much interaction in the previous books so you would imagine Evie goes unnoticed by Sebastian, but you would be wrong. With their own reasons for wanting to marry one another they strike a deal and take us on our journey. It was truly a fascinating read. The joy of this book though was getting to go along for the ride. Watching as Evie finds the freedom to be herself and spread her wings without the hatefulness of her family along with guiding and healing Sebastian and his issues. Not to say Sebastian didn't do his share of healing Evie. Both characters were so fascinatingly flawed and unique that they managed to smooth out each others sharper edges. Sebastian's protectiveness over Evie was seriously swoon worthy. The path to redemption for Sebastian was probably a highlight of this book. Definitely a favorite.
