A v interesting and surprising book!! It took a while for me to get into but then, like the obsession itself,  i was gripped. A fascinating unreliable narrator that has you hooked on every word, Thompson imposes himself as protagonist and uses metafictional games around the writing and editing of the book, that leaves you desperately curious about how real it is.  A compulsively readable descent into psycosis and desperation - v good!
