I have some pretty strong opinions about this book but I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt until I finish the sequel whenever that comes out.

I’m going to try my absolute best not to spoil anything but be warned I’m not the best at determining what is and isn’t a spoiler.

Ok let’s talk about the things I did like about the book before I get into all the things I did. Memphis has such a filthy mouth. Ashley’s writing is so good even though I didn’t like this book I still liked because of her writing if that makes sense.

Ok the negatives…. One of my biggest icks for the book was that I knew the entire time they were in high school. Because I can forget about it most of the times I books because I’m just too focused on what else is going on that the hs bit slips my mind. But not with this book. Prom this, class that, school, blah blah blah. It wouldn’t let me forget the entire book.

But this is where things get tricky and maybe a tad spoilery. This is also where the disclaimer goes of it being the first in a duet and I didn’t know until several several hrs after I finished the book and the feels had marinated lol but the fmc is dating this dude josh. Josh is a douche and thinks of the fmc as like his toy and wants let other play with gf (which I didn’t love personally because it didn’t seem realistic for high schoolers but also it’s been a while since I was in high school so what do I know). But becoming of her trauma he says he does this HUGE thing but when in reality Memphis does it because dude been in love secretly with the fmc for like literal yrs. So she finds out josh cheated on her so she fools around with Memphis rides huge underage weiner and josh found out which made him spiral and he tried to end it all. But he ends up guilting the fmc back with him and telling Memphis that he has to do what he says because he did the HUGE thing and not him. And that’s how the book ended.

I really didn’t love this book.
