Working for Bigfoot: Stories from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

4.0

A good collection of stories that cover the times when the only wizard listed in the Chicago phone book is hired a bigfoot. It feels like a nice throw back to the early days of the Dresden series, when every problem he came across didn't involve massive forces of the supernatural world heading for an apocalypse of one kind or another.

My one complaint is the organization of the stories. The second and third stories should have been switched to maintain a chronological order to events. It robs some of the tension from the events when you know from the previous story not only that a character will survive events but the reason why the character is in trouble as well. If I had to guess, it may have been done his way because the story that ends the collection is the one where Harry gets to cut loose a little bit.

Still, for such a short book, all the parts of the Dresden Files that I enjoy are present.
