So I read the whole series.
It did start out with a pretty "seinen" vibe but took a more serious tone after a short while, with lots of visual metaphors, which I'm more used to having read Innocent. It really is beautiful, frame by frame, very impressive. In fact, the visual is so great, does it even need a plot? :))
Jokes aside... If you're into metaphors and beautiful, well researched art, it's a good read. Though due to the shift of focus toward a more philosophical narrative(?) I find some characters/plot-line were left unfinishedespecially Mori's past, what's with his coma friend? Why did he try to off himself? What's the origin of Mori's solidarity? What about the doctor guy who changed his named and hallucinated being followed by his dead friend's dad? That CEO guy that in the end didnt even go climbing once and his cousin who showed up just to be sexualized? Also Mori's switch toward love and family life and conforming to society also feel a bit too sudden for me... . Another criticism is the pretty misogynistic and/or flat portrait of all female characters.
Overall it could have been more solid plot-wise but like I said, visual takes the win for this one.
Plot: 3.5
Art: Yes
