This is an entertaining short novel written for teens (boys especially, if I can be gender-biased without arousing ire) about a lad who's on the cusp of manhood. He's mostly still child, but he's met a girl he likes, he's starting to think about his way of behaving, and he's seeing his family for themselves. There are some very humorous moments in this book, the voice is excellent, and I enjoyed the movement from everyday goings-on to the recounts of his dreams.
