I deem myself accepting of different genres and ways of storytelling, however, I have come to realize that I don't exactly enjoying reading about depressed people living depressing lives. I appreciate the simplicity in storytelling but it wasn't really for me. I do like that there's improvement in the protagonist/author's life towards the end but I don't see the point of making yourself miserable through the fiction (or non-fiction in this case) you consume. it might work for those who can relate and find solace in her character but our worlds are miles apart.
