Snowed In (Christmas With A Billionaire Novella) by Lila Monroe
funny
hopeful
relaxing
fast-paced
3.0
This novella collection was my first Lila Monroe. I wanted something Christmasy and romantic and it just appeared in the "recommended for you" section of google books...it was also free, so why not try it?
Here we have 2 stories: one between a event planer and a hot rockstar - turned producer(they get snowed in at a lodge); and the other one: aspiring actress and theatre director that also get snowed in somehow.
I want to say I found both stories to be funny and entertaining; both of them had good main protagonists - I think both girls were true to their personalities; and the pacing was on point.
However...maybe because we have here short stories/novellas, the instant attraction between the MCs is not really explained. We just get the guy suddenly salivating after the girl when she somehow gets his attention...I don't know how to feel about this.(the second story handled this way better than the first one..at least Jill REALLY MADE AN IMPRESSION on him :))) )
I also want to mention the conflict at the end...kind of rushed and not really making sense...both girls get mad for something they accepted in the beginning as the norm/rule/this is how it is.
As for the guy, frankly I liked Ace better until the main conflict were he kinda showed his true colors as a player...Paige knows this, but she's heartbroken...the problem comes into play when the author tries to wrap up the story..in my opinion the playboy we saw during the whole story cannot make a 180 change and do that!
Now, Oliver was consistent from start to finish, but the author did not endear me to him.(even with the chapter from his perspective, something Ace did not get) His story with Jill was funnier and more heartwarming, if you don't take into consideration the position everyone will see Jill in when she'll accept the offer at the end...not cool from him...it's like her dignity can go to hell or something.
Overall, I liked this novellas and I will read more from Lila Monroe despite my issues with this collection...I think she has a good writing style and also a good sense of humor. Esentially, you get romantic comedies with lots of spice! ^^
Enjoy
