We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

Really enjoyed the story although I needed a few more thorough explanations

While I liked the general idea of the story, the execution was alright but would probably have been better if the novel was a little longer. The narrator Mary, was pretty unreliable which wasn't particularly a bad thing but it also didn't allow us to delve into the Blackwood family's past. Although we did find out about them later on, we were still left guessing what really happened. Overall, a short and sweet gothic novel with a little mystery.
