Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey

5.0

By the time I finished this book I didn't know how to describe it, this book left me in awe with my emotions all over the place. It was brilliantly planned and executed with immense passion. I came to care so much about Phèdre who is the central character. I witnessed her journey as a child, being sold to slavery, the consequences of Kushiel's dart which led her to become a spy cum prostitute, growing into a woman, witty and smart, mature with experience, making responsible decisions, aiding a Queen, changing politics, leading an army. This book was a phenomenal read. Also, my heart just kept cheering for her and Jocelyn to end up together, hope that does happen in latter books. It was a very life changing read, full of pain and tragedy, brilliant feminist character, an okay political intrigue. The world building was vast and detailed. The writing was beautiful, engaging. Loved every second of this book.
