A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen

5.0

This was such a great play. Initially I was a little bored but it started making sense by the middle portion. The story is about a husband and wife and their kids living lavishly but situations weren't always this good. She had to shift to this new place to improve the failing health of her husband who was very egoistic. The wife's friend visits her and asks for job and the wife asks her husband. The husband complies but he fires a lawyer and gives his job to wife's friend. Things go tumbling down when the guy who has been fired knows a secret about the wife and starts blackmailing her to get his job back.

The story was insightful as Nora the wife finally gets to unveil the facade of love and explore her own self-identity. The testing times show her true identities of people. Its under 100 pages so its a very short read to pick up and indulge in.
