Holy SHit! This is a series I am going to have to return to again in the future because I know there's no way I caught all of its amazingness in one read.

It is very rare that each book gets better and better in a trilogy, but Locklands was a perfect ending and, honestly, a perfect feeling book for this series. These books demand your attention and brain power and feel impossible to put down at any point. The action never stops, and the characters never stop struggling and growing. There are so many reveals and flashbacks that fit in surprisingly well.

This book focused much more on Berenice than Sancia and the other characters, which I loved. She becomes so compelling in this book as a leader and a hero. Her ending is
devastating and beautiful
, and Bennett did a perfect job ending her and everyone's story.

Gregor has been my favorite character this entire time, so to
not have him for the entire book
was hard, but I loved to see his ending.

I always felt Sancia
would have to sacrifice herself
, and I thought it was gorgeously written and tied so well into everything we had learned and knew about her character.

Once again, Bennett used a time jump, nine years this time, to bring us straight back into the action and did so perfectly.

I will now be reading some come-down books and then reading Bennett's other works immediately!
